Breadcrumbs Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Breadcrumbs is operated by Trace3C, LLC ("we", "us"). Privacy questions: team@trace3c.com.

2. What the app collects

• Account information — name, email, organization, and authentication credentials. Credentials are stored on-device in the system secure keystore.
• Asset & inventory data — the gear, cases, manifests, tags, and notes you create.
• Photos — images you capture with the camera or attach from your photo library to document gear.
• Scan & tag data — barcodes, QR codes, and NFC tags you read, plus check-in/out events, custody changes, and timestamps.
• Imported files — manifests and CSV files you choose to import or export.
• Optional location — only if you grant permission, to tag where a scan or check happened.
• Device & diagnostics — app version, operating system, device model, and crash/error reports.

3. Device permissions

Breadcrumbs requests these only when you use the related feature, and you can decline or revoke them in your device settings:

• Camera — scan barcodes/QR codes and photograph assets.
• Photo library — attach existing photos to assets.
• NFC — read and write tags on equipment.
• Location — optionally tag where a scan occurred.
• Files — import/export manifests and CSV data.
• Clipboard — copy asset codes and links.

4. How we use it

To provide the service: storing your inventory, syncing across devices, maintaining audit trails, supporting your team, and diagnosing crashes. We do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.

5. Offline & sync

Breadcrumbs is offline-first. Data you create is stored locally on your device and synced to our servers when you reconnect. Until then it stays on your device.

6. Third-party services

We rely on a small set of processors that handle data on our behalf under contract:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage (where your synced data lives).
• Sentry — crash and performance diagnostics.
• Expo / EAS — app delivery and over-the-air updates.
• Apple App Store & Google Play — distribution and in-app purchases, if any.

We otherwise share data only with members of your organization as you configure, or when required by law.

7. Retention & deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can export or delete your data, or request full account deletion, by emailing team@trace3c.com.

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, and store credentials in the device secure keystore. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.

9. Children

Breadcrumbs is a professional tool not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
